세종시의회 이순열 의장은 21일 대구 수성스퀘어 호텔에서 열린 대한민국시도의회 의장협의회(이하 의장협의회) 제5차 임시회에 참석했다.
이순열 의장의 임시회 참석은 지난 15일 세종시의회 신임 의장으로 선출된 후 처음 참석하는 의장협의회 임시회다.
이날 임시회에서 이 의장을 비롯한 시도의장단은 의장협의회 사무처로부터 '지방의회법' 발의 추진 상황 등에 대한 보고안건을 청취한 후 상정 안건 등을 처리했다.

이번 건의안은 대전시의회가 작성해 충청권 4개 시도(대전·세종·충북·충남)의회 의장이 공동으로 제출했다.
