6월22일-23일, 제주도에서 열리는 한국언론진흥재단이 주최하는 2023년 뉴스저작권 위탁회원사 워크숍 및 정기총회에 참석키 위해 제주도를 방문했다. 제주도에 머무는 동안 'WE Hotel 제주'(제주도 서귀포시 1200로 453-95)에 머물렀다. 몇 년 전에도 투숙했던, 오성급 호텔이다. 'WE Hotel제주'는 '도래숲' 안에 지어져 있어, 숲길 걷기가 환상적이다. 제주도는 한민족이 가진 천혜의, 자연이 준 특별한 섬이다. 제주도 어디를 걸으나, 걸으면, 그냥 행복해진다!

○…도래숲...나무들 끼리 경쟁하며 형성된 제주도의 자연숲...숲길을 걸으면서 고사리 수국도 만났다!
6월23일 새벽 5시30분. 제주의 호텔 침대에서 눈을 떴다. 'WE Hotel 제주'(제주도 서귀포시 1200로 453-95)에 붙어있는 자연림 도래숲 길을 걸으려 호텔을 나섰다. WE Hotel은 '도래숲' 안에 지어져 있다. 호텔을 나서자 숲 내음이 폐부로 흡입됐다. 숲길 걷기에 나섰다. 사람과 마주치지 않는다. 혼자다. 숲 속에서 홀로 있기다. 숲이 날 반긴다. 나무들 끼리 경쟁하며 형성된 자연숲이다. 고사리, 수국과도 만났다. 이름 모를 풀들이 지천에 자랐다. 도래숲 길을 걷다보니 가끔씩 까만색 돌담이 눈에 뜨인다. 숲길을 닦으면서 나온 돌들이었음직 하다.

○…새벽 숲길, 그 누구와도 마주치지 않았다. 도래숲 길을 걸으면서 소원을 빌었다. 필자가 제안해온 웃음종교 본당이 제주도의 자연숲에 있으면, 아주 좋으리라는...그런, 꿈을 꿨다. 웃음세상 만들기의 본당, 그런 시설을 소원해봤다. 하하하... 천연 자연림 숲 속을 걸으면서 천지신명을 향해 또 빌었다. 필자가 추진해온 문화사업인 한국누드화미술관도 만들게 해달라고...하하하... 필자의 경우, 걸으면 행복해진다. 특히 제주도는 한민족이 가진 천혜의 자연섬. 이 섬의 어디를 걷든 ...걸으면 행복해진다. 그래서 걷는다. 새벽. 필자는 도래숲 길 걷기에서 스마트폰에 내장된 첨단 카메라로 숲 길을 촬영했다. 제주도에서만 볼 수 있는 자연 풍광이다.

지난 6월23일 아침 5시 30분, 제주도 서귀포시 WE호텔제주의 금호가든 안에 있는 이 나무(아래 사진) 아래에서 많은 생각을 했다. 이 나무는 해풍에 시달리며 큰 나무 같았다. 그래도 나무는 듬직하게 컸다. 어깨도 넓디넓었다. 누군가 편하게 쉬라고, 그늘도 만들어 줬다. 그 나무 아래에 놓인 나무 의자에 앉아, 삶이 무언지를 묵상했다. 이 나무 밑을 떠나면, 이 나무의 그늘이 많이 그리울 것이다. 이 나무 같은 분에게 이 글을 바친다~
