희망브리지와 손해보험 사회공헌협의회가 장마철 재난취약계층의 침수피해를 막기 위해 힘을 모은다.
희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 손해보험 사회공헌협의회(의장 정지원)와 함께 재난취약계층 대상 물막이판, 역류방지시설 등 침수방지시설 지원사업을 본격화한다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 지원사업의 대상은 집중호우 시 피해가 예상되는 반지하주택과 저지대에 위치한 사회복지시설 등이며 일차적으로 관악구 소재 사회복지시설에 설치된다.
앞서 희망브리지와 손해보험 사회공헌협의회, 행정안전부는 재난구호 민관협력을 위한 사회공헌사업 협약을 맺었으며, 손해보험 사회공헌협의회가 조성한 70억원 규모의 기금으로 ▲재난 발생 시 이재민을 위한 임시주거시설 지원 ▲재난피해 예방을 위한 침수방지시설 설치 지원 ▲재난 취약지역에 대한 풍수해보험 가입 지원을 3개년간 추진하기로 했다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 “침수방지시설 지원사업을 진행할 수 있도록 기금을 마련해준 손해보험 사회공헌협의회에 감사드린다”라며, “이번 지원사업으로 재난취약계층이 보다 안전하게 장마철을 지낼 수 있기를 기대한다”라고 말했다.
희망브리지 전국재해구호협회는 신문사와 방송사, 사회단체가 힘을 모아 설립한 순수 민간단체이자 국내 자연재해 피해 구호금을 지원할 수 있는 유일한 법정 구호단체다. 설립 이후 현재까지 1조6천억원의 성금을 누적 지원했으며 6천만점 이상의 구호물품을 지원했다.
