희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 한국SGI(이사장 김인수)가 지난달 전국적으로 발행한 집중호우로 큰 피해를 본 주민들을 위로하고, 신속한 피해 복구를 지원하기 위한 성금을 전해왔다고 10일 밝혔다.
한국SGI가 이번에 전달한 성금은 집중호우로 발생한 많은 인명과 재산 피해 복구를 위해 민‧관‧군이 힘을 모으는 가운데 피해 주민들에게 인도적 차원의 위로금으로 전달될 예정이다.
김인수 한국SGI 이사장은 “수해로 어려움을 겪고 있는 분들에게 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 바라며 모두 힘내셔서 하루빨리 정상적인 일상이 복구되기를 기원한다”라고 말했다.
그동안 한국SGI는 각종 재난 피해 이웃의 일상 회복을 위해 앞장서 왔다. 지난해 경북·산불과 2020년 수해, 2020년 코로나 당시에도 각 1억원씩을 희망브리지에 기부했다. 또한 2017년 포항 지진 피해 이웃을 위해 써달라며 3천만원의 성금을 전달하기도 했다.
기탁식에서 송필호 회장은 “모두가 힘든 시기에 지속해서 도움을 주신 한국SGI에 감사드린다”라고 말했다.
재난 구호모금 전문기관인 희망브리지 전국재해구호협회는 1961년 전국의 신문사와 방송사, 사회단체가 힘을 모아 설립한 순수 민간단체이자 국내 자연재해 피해 구호금을 지원할 수 있는 유일한 법정 구호단체다. 설립 이후 현재까지 1조6천억 원의 성금을 누적 지원했으며 6천만 점 이상의 구호물품을 지원했다.
특히 공익법인 평가 기관인 한국가이드스타가 발표하는 공익법인 투명성, 재무안정성 평가에서 5년 연속으로 최고등급을 받는 등 국민 성금을 투명하게 배분하며 집행하고 있다.

SGI Korea donates money to help victims of torrential rains
Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced today that SGI Korea (Chairman Kim In-soo) has delivered a donation to comfort residents affected by last month's nationwide torrential rains and to support their rapid recovery.

The company also donated 30 million won to the organization for the victims of the 2017 Pohang earthquake.
