희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 대한약사회(회장 최광훈)가 지난 7월 호우로 큰 피해를 본 이웃을 위해 써달라며 회원들이 십시일반 모은 성금 1억7천여만원을 전해왔다고 11일 밝혔다.
대한약사회는 7월 12일부터 8월 9일까지 회원 약사들이 십시일반 모은 1억7200만1435원의 성금을 희망브리지에 전하며 수해 이웃을 위한 회원들의 뜻을 의미 있게 써달라고 당부했다.
서울 마포구 희망브리지에서 열린 성금 전달식에는 대한약사회 최광훈 회장, 김은주 부회장, 최두주 사무총장 및 희망브리지 김정희 사무총장, 김희년 본부장 등이 참석했다.
최광훈 회장은 “이번 성금 모금 활동은 우리 약사들이 지역주민의 건강지킴이이자 이웃으로서 당연히 해야 할 일”이라며 “이후에도 각종 재난 등의 이유로 어려움에 빠진 이웃이 있다면 약사회는 고통을 함께 나눌 것”이라고 말했다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 “평소 국민들의 보건과 안전을 위해 힘쓰시는 대한약사회와 회원들께 깊은 존경과 감사의 말씀을 드린다”라며, “당부하신 대로 회원들께서 모아주신 이번 성금을 어려움을 겪고 있는 이들의 마음을 위로하는 데 소중히 사용하겠다”라고 말했다.
재난 구호모금 전문기관인 희망브리지 전국재해구호협회는 1961년 전국의 신문사와 방송사, 사회단체가 힘을 모아 설립한 순수 민간단체이자 국내 자연재해 피해 구호금을 지원할 수 있는 유일한 법정 구호단체다. 설립 이후 현재까지 1조6천억 원의 성금을 누적 지원했으며 6천만 점 이상의 구호물품을 지원했다.
