희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 지난 6월과 7월 전국에 발생한 수해로 유명을 달리한 피해자 중 지자체 요청 등 절차가 마무리된 33명에 대해 각 2천만원씩 총 6억6천만원의 의연금을 긴급 지원했다고 14일 밝혔다.
이번 지원금은 정부가 고시하는 「의연금품 관리·운영 규정」에 따른 상한액이다. 인명피해에 대한 지급상한액은 지난 5월 행정안전부가 관련 규정을 개정·시행해 각 2배씩 상향된 바 있다.
재해구호법상 의연금은 확정된 피해를 포함한 정부의 재해복구계획 수립 후 해당 정보에 따라 지급되나, 2023년부터는 행정안전부와 협의해 사망 등 명확하게 확인되는 피해에 대해서는 유가족에 대한 위로와 신속 지원의 취지에 따라 긴급 지급하기로 한데에 따른 조치이다.
그 외 전파·반파 및 침수 등 주택피해와 지원 절차가 진행 중인 사망을 비롯한 부상 등 인명피해는 정부의 재해복구계획 수립 이후 신속히 지원할 예정이다.
희망브리지 송필호 회장은 “갑작스럽게 유명을 달리하신 분들의 명복을 빌며 국민께서 모아주신 소중한 의연금이 유가족에게 위로와 힘이 되기를 바란다”라며 “관련 절차가 마무리되는 대로 이번에 지원을 받지 못한 분들께도 신속히 지원하도록 하겠다”라고 말했다.
