과천시, 필리핀 마발라캇시 ‘청소년 어학연수’ 성공리에 마쳐

과천시가 필리핀 마발라캇시립대학에서 지난 7월 25일부터 8월 10일까지 관내 중학교 1·2학년 학생 30명이 참여한 가운데 진행된 ‘청소년 어학연수’를 성공적으로 마쳤다고 11일 밝혔다.

과천시는 지난 4월 필리핀 팜팡가주 마발라캇시와 우호교류의향서를 체결한 이후, 첫 교류 사업으로 이번 청소년 어학연수 프로그램을 진행했다. 8월 3일에는 과천 청소년이 마발라캇시립대에서 무상으로 교육 받을 수 있도록 하는 관련 협약을 체결했다. 협약과 관련한 대상자 선정 등 세부 사항은 추후 협의를 통해 구체화할 예정이다.

청소년 어학연수 참여 청소년들은 주중에는 마발라캇시립대학에서 어학 수업을 듣고, 방과 후 활동으로 골프아카데미와 수영 활동에 참여하고, 주말에는 필리핀 최대 규모의 워터파크인 아쿠아플래닛, 클락뮤지엄 관람, 수빅비치 호핑투어, 영화 관람, 쇼핑몰 등 다양한 체험을 즐겼다.
