세종시의 2024년도 정부예산이 올해보다 1235억 원이 증액된 1조 5109억으로 확정됐다.
최민호 세종시장은 29일 내년도 국비 확보 관련 기자회견을 하면서 내년도 세종시의 국비 확보 예산은 올해보다 8.9% 증액된 1조 5109억 원이라고 밝혔다.
2024년도 국비확보를 설명한 최 시장은 내년도 예산에는 세종의사당 보상비, 대통령 집무실 건립비, 금강횡단 교량 추가 건설비 등이 정부예산안에 포함 됐다고 밝혔다.
올해보다 1235억 원이 증액된 정부예산이 확보되면서 세종시는 현안 사업 예산이 다수 반영됐다고 평가하고, 미래전략수도 기반 및 시민 안전 제고 등 역점사업 추진에 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
내년도 정부예산 가운데 눈여겨볼 만한 항목은 국회세종의사당 건립에 필요한 부지매입비 350억 원과 대통령 제2집무실 건립을 위한 기본 조사설계비 10억 원이 반영된 것으로 세종시는 내년도 예산 확보 가운데 가장 큰 성과로 보고있다.
이에따라 세종시는 대통령 제 2집무실 건립도 하반기 예타 면제 등을 통해 정부의 건립 로드맴에 따라 27년까지 차질 없이 완공될 수 있도록 최선을 다할 예정이라는 입장이다.
내년도 세종시의 정부예산안 확보 가운데는 금강 횡단 교량의 추가 건립을 위한 사전타당성 조사비 1억 원과 세종~청주 고속도로 건설 사업비가 전년 대비 652억 증가한 1655억 원 반영, 세종~안성 고속도로 공사비 909억 원이 반영됐다.
이 밖에 운전면허시험장 부재로 시민의 불편이 컸던 것도 기본 계획 수립비 1억 원이 반영됐고, 올해 2억 5천만 원이었던 ‘도시바람길숲 조성’ 사업비도 48억 원으로 대폭 증액 반영됐다.
세종시는 최근 취득세 등 지방세입 예산의 감소로 긴축 운용을 위해 감액 추경을 추진 중인 가운데 내년도 세출예산은 재정 건전성 확보를 기반으로 선택과 집중을 통해 예산을 운영할 계획이다.
이날 최민호 세종시장은 “반영된 정부 예산안이 국회 심의단계에서 감액되지 않도록 철저히 준비하고 있다”며 “사전 절차가 완료되지 않아 반영되지 않은 사업은 관계부처 협의를 거처 법적 절차를 이행한 후에 국회 예산심의 과정에서 반영되도록 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
