브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG유플러스가 한국토요타자동차와 손잡고 전기차 충전 인프라 확대에 나선다.
LG유플러스는 한국토요타자동차와 멤버십 서비스 개발, 충전기 설치 등 국내 전기차 충전 인프라 확대를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.
양사는 이번 협약의 일환으로 신차 구매 고객 대상 신규 토요타 멤버십 서비스를 개발한다. 멤버십 가입 고객은 LG유플러스의 전기차 충전 서비스인 ‘볼트업(VoltUP)’ 가입 후 첫 한 달간 최대 5만원까지 무료로 충전할 수 있으며, 다양한 공동 프로모션 혜택도 받을 수 있다. 멤버십은 이달 국내 출시 예정인 ‘5세대 프리우스 플러그인 하이브리드(PHEV)’ 모델 구매 고객부터 가입할 수 있다.
한국토요타자동차는 전국 토요타 공식 딜러 전시장과 서비스 센터에 볼트업 충전소를 설치하고, 이를 시작으로 인프라를 지속 늘려갈 예정이다. 또한, 양사는 늘어나는 신규 전기차 고객을 잡기 위해 운전자 혜택을 더욱 강화하는 등 다방면으로 협업을 확대할 계획이다.

한편, 한국토요타자동차는 LG유플러스와 지난해 6월부터 파트너십을 체결해 렉서스와 토요타 브랜드에 통합 인포테인먼트 서비스 플랫폼인 U+Drive를 탑재하고 있다.
