브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넷마블은 자사의 RF 온라인 IP를 바탕으로 기획·연재 중인 웹소설 ‘배드 본 블러드’의 웹툰 제작을 결정했다고 13일 밝혔다.
‘배드 본 블러드’는 넷마블이 자사 IP의 확장을 목적으로 제작한 RF 온라인 세계관 기반의 웹소설이다. 이번 웹툰 제작 결정은 웹소설 론칭 3개월 만에 130만 다운로드 돌파, 평균 별점 9.4점 기록 등 웹소설 독자들의 높은 호응을 바탕으로 기획됐다.
웹툰 제작은 ‘나 혼자만 레벨업’, ‘전지적 독자 시점’ 등 메가 히트작으로 유명한 ‘레드아이스 스튜디오’가 맡았으며, 원작 IP ‘RF 온라인’의 SF 세계관을 화려하고 박진감 넘치는 작화로 표현할 계획이다.
윤혜영 넷마블 IP 사업실장은 “웹소설 ‘배드 본 블러드’의 웹툰 제작 결정은 원작 IP인 ‘RF 온라인’에 대한 이용자들의 두터운 팬심과 웹소설의 작품성을 인정해주신 독자분들의 성원이 큰 역할을 했다”며 “연내 ‘RF 온라인 넥스트’ 신작 출시에 앞서 웹소설과 웹툰을 통해 ‘RF 온라인’의 세계관을 한껏 즐기시길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편, 넷마블은 지난 지스타 2023에서 공개한 ‘RF 온라인 넥스트’를 2024년 연내 PC·모바일 크로스 플랫폼으로 출시 예정이다.
