바이칼호수를 좋아해서
매년 이루크츠크여행 다니던 친구가 있다.
‘우리 한민족의 始原으로 기억되는
바이칼호수의 4계절을 가슴으로 느끼며
태고의 신비를 간직한 성스러움에
원초적인 눈물을 흘릴 수밖에 없었다.‘고
꿈꾸는 듯, 맑고 아름다운 눈을 가졌던
내 친구 정진영은 그리움 가득한
시선으로 먼 시베리아를 바라보며 말한다.

함께 바이칼호수를 방문하기로 했지만
전쟁으로 닿을 수 없는 상황을 아쉬워하며
그들의 역사와 문화, 민중의 삶을
그린 “러시아 그림 이야기‘책을 권하였다.

첫 장을 열었을 때
니콜라이 야로센코의 “삶은 어디에나”의
그림과 함께 서문이 시작되었다

심정에 이르러 그를 떠올렸나보다.
완숙한 행정전문가로서 능력과 추진력,
겸손과 부드러움의 정치의 품격이 절실히
그리워 그를 향한 그리움과 위로의 메시지를

얼마 전 또 사면이 있었지요,
아무리 봐도 이름을 찾을 수 없어
나도 또한 상심했습니다.
여러 이유와 사연들로 모두 분노를
표했지만 특히 기준과 원칙도 없고
형평성도 어긋난다는 사람들의 세평에
특히 공감을 많이 했습니다.
파렴치범도, 불법자금운영도, 형법위반도
아닌‘포럼’운영의 미숙의 정치자금법
위반이 거미줄처럼 오래 옥죄여 지내요.
팔이 안으로 굽는 기울기는 이해하지만
수차례 있었던 사면의 기회에서 족집게로
집어내는 것처럼 늘 대상에서 빠진 것에
대하여 사람들은 많은 억측을 하게 되지요.
K형은 행정고시를 통하여 공직에 발을 들였고
행정안전부, 충남도, 대전광역시, 총리실
청와대를 두루 거치면서 위민행정을 무언지
조금 알 것 같다고 했었지요.
국가의 수많은 위기마다 국정이 올바른 방향을
잡아갈 수 있도록 밑그림을 그리고, 펼쳐지도록
노력하며 국가경영의 큰 행정을 배웠다 했지요.
그리고 그 경험이
더 크게 쓰이게 되기를 바라면서
처음 정치에 입문했었을 때
우리 모두 박수를 보내며
행정전문 정치인을 환영했었지요.
짧은 정치기간동안 정치인의 올바른 품격을
보여주었고 많은 정책을 펼치기도 했는데,
타고난 인품의 대중적 인기에 내, 외부의
정적들이 두려움에 결사반대를 해서
사면을 하지 못하였다는 말이 떠돌 때
가장 많은 설득력을 가지게 되네요.

긴 인생에서 꼭 정치가 아니더라도
어느 곳에서든지 빛날 수 있는 분이기에
야로센코처럼 새 삶의 희망을 그려
나가기 바랍니다.
더 의미 있고 가치 있는 생의 방향으로
거침없이 나아가시기 바랍니다.
좁은 공간에 갇혀있는 그림속의 사람들,
좁은 창문을 통해 비둘기에게 먹이를 주며
행복해 하는 그들의 성스러운 모습에서
주어진 환경이 척박하더라도 이겨내고
나아가야 한다는 진리를 가르쳐 주는 것이
아닌가 하여 위로와 격려의 뜻을 보냅니다.
