윤석열 대통령이 26일 고위공직자범죄수사처장(이하 공수처장) 후보 추천위원회가 추천한 두 명의 후보자 중 오동운 변호사를 최종 후보자로 지명했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
김수경 대통령실 대변인은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 이 같은 인선안을 발표하면서 "신속히 국회 인사청문회를 요청 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
지난 1월 20일 김진욱 전 공수처장 임기가 끝난 후 석 달 넘게 공석 상황에서 후임 후보가 발표됐다. 앞서 후보 추천위원회는 지난 2월 29일 이명순·오 변호사를 최종 후보로 추천한 바 있다.
1969년생 오 후보자는 서울대 독어독문학과를 졸업하고 지난 1998년 부산지법 예비판사로 공직 입문(사법연수원 27기)후 서울고법 판사·헌법재판소 파견법관·울산지법 부장판사·수원지법 성남지원 부장판사 등을 역임했다.
대통령실은 "법원서 20년간 다양한 분야에서 재판 경험·전문성을 쌓아왔다"며 인선 배경을 전했다.
