꿈은 어디에 있다가, 나에게로-모든 사람들에게로, 찾아오는 것일까? 있는 곳이 저 푸른 창공인가? 어두운 지하인가? 또는 산 너머인가? 저 먼 대륙인가?...하여튼, 잘 모르겠으나, 꿈은 그 어디엔가 있다가 나에게로 찾아오는 것으로 이해하게 됐다.
나는 언론 사업(신문발행)을 시작하기 전, 고민을 했다. 내가 경영할 신문사 자리를 어디에 정하느냐는 것이었다. 그 결론으로, 서울역 근처(직선거리 600m)에 가야 한다고 맘먹었다. 왜냐? 그 이유는? 기차를 타고, 서울역을 출발, 평양역을 거쳐, 유럽-중국-러시아 등 대륙으로 갔으면 하는 꿈 때문이었다. 대륙의 뉴스를 보도하는 언론사를 꿈꾸었다.
나는 이 꿈을 위해 서울역 근처에 자리를 잡았다. 그해가 1997년 4월이니, 벌써 27년의 세월이 흘렀다.
나는 시간이 날 때마다 서울역 근방을 배회(徘徊)한다. 이곳에서 기차를 타고 평양역을 거쳐 대륙으로 가는 꿈의 실현을 위해서이다.
부자 나라가 된 대한민국, 수도인 서울의 중심에 있는 서울역 주변은 찬란하게 빛나고 있다. 세계 사람들이 대륙왕래를 위해 기차를 타고 서울역에 내리고, 기차를 타려고 오르는 날을 상상해본다.
문재인 전 대통령 정권에서 문재인 대통령은 북한의 김정은 국무위원장과 3차에 걸쳐 남북한 정상회담을 했었다. 이때, 나의 꿈이 이뤄지는 줄 알았다. 그러나, 내 꿈의 성취가 비켜 갔다.

필자가 중국 동북 삼성지역을 갔을 때, 중국이 설립한 한국전쟁 박물관(조선원조전쟁기념관)엘 갔었다. 그곳에 1953년 7월의 남북 정전협정 조약문서(사진 참조)가 전시돼 있었다. 미국-중국-북한을 대표하는 자의 서명이 선명하게 보였다. 그런데 이 서명에는 남한 대표가 빠져 있었다. 남한이 소외돼 있었다. 한국은 이제, 과거의 그런 나약함을 벗어났다.
요즈음 서울 시내를 걷다보면, 또는 버스를 타보면. 또는 지하철을 탑승해보면, 인사동을 걸으면, 충무로엘 가면...너무도 쉽게 외국인들을 만나게 된다. 한국은 이제 국제사회가 우르러보는 우상국가, 선진국가가 됐다.
이쯤해서, 나의 꿈이 실현되는 꿈을 꾼다. 서울역에서 출발, 평양역을 거쳐 대륙으로 가는 날이 오기를 고대(苦待)하고 고대(苦待)한다.
미국, 중국, 러시아, 일본을 비롯한, 한국 분단에 책임이 있는 강대국가들의 맹성(猛省)-각성(覺醒)을 촉구한다.
남북 분단, 너무 길었다. 인간의 도리(道理)로, 당장 분단을 해체하는 작업을 추진해야만 한다. 국제사회는 한반도 이산가족들의 아픔을 헤아려야 한다. 인류사회가 지닌, 21세기의 가장 나쁜 독성(毒性)은 남북한의 분단 지속(持續)이다.
한반도는 지난 1953년 정전협정을 한 이후, 71년째 분단(分斷) 국면을 벗어나지 못하고 있다.
만약 미국이 남부와 북부로 분단이 돼, 71년 간 이산가족들이 헤어져 살았다면. 어찌 됐을까? 미국인들은 못 견뎌 했을 것이다. 모든 인류에게는 행복권이 주어져 있다. 세계의 모든 국가들은 내 일처럼, 한반도 이산가족들의 행복권을 챙겨야 주어야할 때이다.

한국은 이제 경제적인 선진국이 됐다. 그러하므로, 한국과 가까이 하는 국가들의 번영(繁榮)이 예약-예비돼 있다. 한반도의 분단 해체(解體)는 북한이나 중국-러시아 등 국가들의 국익(國益)에도 부합된다.
만약 한반도가 분단되지 않았다면, 대한민국의 선진국화(先進國化)는 더 빨리 성취됐을 수 있다.
기차는 서울역에서 평양역을 거쳐 유럽-중국-러시아로 달리고 싶어 한다. 나의 꿈은 개인적이지만, 모든 인류의 꿈일 수도 있다. “꿈이 아무리 크다 할지라도, 그 꿈을 누가 훔쳐갈 수는 없다!” 인류 지성(知性)이여, 어서 깨어나라! moonilsuk@naver.com

The worst toxicity of the 21st century is the continued division of North and South Korea.
[Essay approach] I hope that the day will come when we depart from Seoul Station, pass through Pyongyang Station, and head to the continent... Human intelligence, wake up!

Where are the dreams, and do they come back to me and to everyone else? Is that blue sky where you are? Is it a dark basement? Or is it beyond the mountains? Is it a distant continent?... Anyway, I'm not sure, but I've come to understand that dreams exist somewhere and then come to me.
Before starting my journalism business (publishing a newspaper), I thought about it. The question was where to locate the newspaper company I would run. In conclusion, I decided that I should go near Seoul Station (600m in a straight line). because? The reason is that? It was because of my dream of taking a train, leaving Seoul Station, passing through Pyongyang Station, and going to continents such as Europe, China, and Russia. I dreamed of becoming a media company that reported news from the continent.
I settled down near Seoul Station to pursue this dream. The year was April 1997, so 27 years have already passed.
Whenever I have time, I wander around Seoul Station. This is to realize the dream of taking the train from here to the continent via Pyongyang Station.
In Korea, which has become a rich country, the area around Seoul Station, located in the center of Seoul, the capital, is shining brightly. I imagine a day when people around the world take the train to Seoul Station to travel between continents, and then climb up to catch the train.
During the regime of former President Moon Jae-in, President Moon Jae-in held three inter-Korean summits with North Korea's Chairman Kim Jong-un. At this time, I thought my dream was coming true. However, the fulfillment of my dream was sidelined.
When I went to the Samsung area in northeastern China, I went to the Korean War Museum (Chosun Aid War Memorial) established by China. The document of the North-South Armistice Treaty of July 1953 (see photo) was on display there. The signatures of those representing the United States, China, and North Korea were clearly visible. However, the South Korean representative was missing from this signature. South Korea was marginalized. Korea has now escaped the weakness of the past.
These days, when you walk around downtown Seoul or take a bus. Or, if you take the subway, walk through Insadong, or go to Chungmuro El... you can very easily meet foreigners. Korea has now become an idol country and an advanced country that the international community looks up to.
At this point, I dream that my dream is coming true. I look forward to the day when we depart from Seoul Station, pass through Pyongyang Station, and head to the continent.
We urge the powerful countries responsible for the division of Korea, including the United States, China, Russia, and Japan, to stand up and wake up.
The division of North and South Korea took too long. In accordance with human principles, we must immediately pursue the task of dismantling the division. The international community must understand the pain of separated families on the Korean Peninsula. The worst poison in human society in the 21st century is the continued division of North and South Korea.
The Korean Peninsula has been divided for 71 years since the armistice agreement was signed in 1953.
What if America were divided into South and North, and separated families lived separated for 71 years? What happened? Americans wouldn't have been able to endure it. All mankind is given the right to happiness. It is time for all countries in the world to take care of the right to happiness of separated families on the Korean Peninsula, just as I do mine.
Korea has now become an economically advanced country. Therefore, the prosperity of countries close to Korea is reserved. Dismantling the division of the Korean Peninsula also serves the national interests of North Korea and China and Russia.
If the Korean Peninsula had not been divided, Korea's development as a developed country could have been achieved sooner. The train wants to run from Seoul Station to Pyongyang Station to Europe, China, and Russia.
