고양특례시(시장 이동환) 산하 고양산업진흥원(원장 한동균)은 지난 20일 로스앤젤레스(LA) 세계한인무역협회와 한·미 양국의 산업·무역 증진 등 교류를 촉진하기 위한 업무협약 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.

미국 로스앤젤레스(LA)에서 진행된 이날 행사에는 한동균 진흥원장, 주 로스엔젤레스 총영사관 김영완 총영사, LA 세계한인무역협회 에드워드손 회장(팀스피릿 부동산 그룹 회장), 이교식 이사장(IKT텔레콤 대표) 등이 참석했다.
양해각서에는 ▲기관 간 정보 공유 및 기업 간 교류 촉진 ▲고양경제자유구역 및 첨단산업단지에 대한 기업 유치 및 투자 협력 등의 내용이 담겼다.
LA 세계한인무역협회는 1981년 설립되어 해외지사화사업, 수출바우처사업, 수출새싹기업 지원사업, GBC 마케팅사업 등을 통해 한국 기업의 대미 수출 등 미국 진출의 교두보 역할을 하고 있으며, 회원 수는 약 370여명에 달한다.
한동균 원장은 “LA세계한인무역협회와 고양산업진흥원 간의 협약 체결로 미국 내 한상 기업들과의 교류 채널이 구축되어 고양시 경제자유구역과 일산테크노밸리 내에 글로벌 기업 등 투자 유치가 활성화 되기를 기대한다”라고 말했다.[고양=박정호 기자]
