2024 파리올림픽 개막식이 진행되면서 파리 시청 지붕에서 발레리노의 춤이 있었다. 파리오페라발레단 수석무용수 기욤 (2000~)이었다. 그는 2018년 350년의 역사를 자랑하는 세계적인 파리오페라발레단에 입단하여 2023년 흑인으로는 최초로 수석무용수인 에투알(étoile)에 올랐다.
지난 2023년 3월 11일 서울 LG아트센터에서 열린 프랑스 낭만 발레 명작 ‘지젤’ 공연 후 관객의 박수에 다시 무대에 서는 커튼콜에서 영예로운 에투알 지명 소식이 발표되었던 우리나라와 인연이 있는 발레리노이다.

그가 동갑나이인 파리올림픽 예술감독 토마스 졸리(1982~)와 의기투합한 배경을 헤아리면 2020년 프랑스 대중 음악사에서 시대의 감성을 관통한 사이버펑크 록 오페라 “스타매니아” 컴백 투어 작업이다.
록 오페라 “스타매니아”는 뛰어난 감성을 가졌던 프랑스 가수이며 작곡가인 미셸 베르제(1947~1992)가 프랑스계 캐나다 작사가 뤽 플라몽동(1942~)의 대본과 가사를 작곡하여 만든 록 오페라로 1980년대에서 1990년대에 프랑스에서 가장 성공한 록 오페라였다.

올림픽 사상 최초로 야외에서 개막식이 펼쳐진 2024 파리올림픽은 역대 올림픽 중 가장 많은 참여 인원과 다양한 행사가 어우러진 매우 복합적인 개막식이었다. 이러한 야외 개막식은 2018 부에노스아이레스 하계 청소년올림픽의 영향이 컷다. 당시 개막식이 아르헨티나 수도 부에노스아이레스의 오벨리스크 광장 대로에서 열렸다.
