과천시, 성숙한 반려동물 문화 정착 ‘댕댕이 시민학교’ 참가자 모집

과천시가 오는 8월 26일부터 9월 8일까지 성숙한 반려동물 돌봄 문화 정착을 위한 ‘댕댕이 시민학교’ 참가자를 모집한다.

과천시는 신청자를 대상으로 전문 반려견 교육업체와의 1:1 면담을 통해 보호자의 반려견 문제행동 교정 의지, 교육 참여 의사 등을 종합적으로 고려해 최종 35가구를 선정한다.

선정된 반려견 양육가구는 9월 20일부터 12월 15일까지 교육업체와 협의 하에 각 교육일정을 조율한 후 △1:1 방문교육 △보호자 산책교육 △온라인교육(반려견 기초상식 및 방문교육 준비)을 받을 수 있다.

행동교정이 필요한 반려견을 양육하는 과천시민은 누구나 신청 가능하다. 다만 반려견은 동물등록이 돼 있어야 한다.

신계용 과천시장은 “반려견을 양육하는 과천시민을 대상으로 충분한 교육을 제공하여 성숙한 반려동물 문화가 정착될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 과천시는 지난 5월 과천동 광창마을회관, 주암동 삼포공원, 문원동 문원2단지소공원에서 경기도 수의사회와 함께 ‘찾아가는 반려동물 간이건강검진’을 실시해 동물병원 이용이 어려운 반려동물이 동물복지 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 했다.
