[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 수원시는 일본 아사히카와시와 자매결연 35주년을 맞아 ‘수원-아사히카와의 날’ 행사를 개최했다.
이마즈 히로스케 아사히키와시장, 후쿠이 히데오 아사히카와시의회 의장 등 대표단 15명, 민간교류단체를 비롯한 아사히카와 시민 85명 등 총 100명의아사히카와시 방문단이 제61회 수원화성문화제 기간에 수원을 방문했고, 5일 팔달문화센터에서 열린 ‘수원-아사히카와의 날’ 행사에 참석했다.
이재준 시장은 환영사에서 “1989년 자매결연한 아사히카와는 수원시의 오랜 벗으로, 우리는 어려울 때 서로 돕고, 기쁨은 함께 나눌 수 있는 친밀한 사이”라며 “오늘 만남을 계기로 수원시와 아사히카와가 한층 성장한 동반자 관계가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
이마즈 히로스케 아사히카와시장은 답사에서 “아사히카와 방문단을 따뜻하게 환대해 주신 수원시에 감사드린다”며 “지난 35년 동안 활발하게 교류해 왔는데, 앞으로도 두 도시 시민이 서로를 소중하게 여기는 마음으로 함께하길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 수원시의회 이재식 의장을 비롯한 시의원, 두 도시 친선협회, 수원-아사히카와 시민교류위원회 위원 등이 참석했다.
이재준 시장과 이마즈 히로스케 시장은 서로 명예시민증을 수여했다. 명예시민증은 양 도시 의회 의장에게도 수여했다.
