김해서 월드컵 개최

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 오는 9일과 10일 양일간 시민체육공원 축구장, 김해운동장 일원에서 2024년 전국 외국인 월드컵 행사를 개최한다고 7일 밝혔다.

지난해 경남 최초로 개최한 김해시 외국인 미니월드컵의 뜨거운 호응에 올해는 전국 단위로 행사 규모를 키웠다. 김해, 양산, 부산 등의 9개국 12개팀 500여명의 선수단과 외국인 주민들이 김해시를 방문해 경기를 치른다.

지난달 김해를 주 개최지로 열린 전국(장애인)체전의 열기를 이어 9일 리그전을 시작으로 10일 토너먼트를 통해 우승팀을 가리며 경기 결과에 따라 1~3위, MVP에게 김해시장 트로피와 상금을 수여한다.

올해는 외국인 근로자를 위한 각종 정보 제공과 상담을 위해 김해외국인근로자지원센터, 고용노동부 양산지청에서 참여하며 한국산업안전보건공단은 VR(가상현실)로 정보를 제공한다. 또 8개국별 부스와 키링 만들기 등 다양한 체험이 마련된다.

홍태용 시장은 “전국 외국인 월드컵 참여를 위해 김해를 방문할 선수와 가족분들을 환영한다”면서 “축구라는 공통의 열정으로 국적과 언어를 뛰어넘어 서로 하나되고 각국의 문화를 이해하는 축제의 장이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
