브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국타이어앤테크놀로지㈜ 대전공장이 10일 오전 대전시 서구 대전시청 대강당에서 진행된 ‘제19회 2024 대전 자원봉사자의 날 기념식’에서 ‘2024 대한민국 자원봉사대상 국무총리표창’을 수상했다.
대한민국 자원봉사대상은 행정자치부 주관으로 자원봉사와 기부 등을 통해 국내 사회 발전에 기여한 우수 단체, 기업, 개인 등에게 주어지는 상이다.
한국타이어는 지역사회에서 다양한 사회공헌사업을 통해 나눔 문화 확산, 재난 대응, 아동 대상 교통사고 예방 향상, 탄소중립 실천, 멸종위기종 살리기사업 진행을 통한 지역 생물 다양성 증진 실천 등 지속가능성의 가치를 높이는 공로를 인정받았다.
한국타이어는 2011년 임직원 전원이 참여하는 ‘한국타이어 봉사단’을 출범하여 임직원들의 자발적으로 기획하고 참여하는 봉사활동을 할 수 있도록 시스템을 구축하고 지원하고 있다.
이에 임직원들은 지역의 소외계층을 위한 다양한 봉사활동을 지속적으로 전개해 오고 있으며, 2023년 봉사 시간 1만여 시간을 달성하는 등 지역 사회 어려운 이웃에게 따뜻한 온기를 전하기 위한 노력을 아끼지 않고 있다.
이준길 한국타이어 대전공장 공장장은 “지역사회 발전을 위해 꾸준히 진행해 온 다양한 사회공헌활동에 대한 가치를 인정받게 돼 큰 영광으로 생각한다”며 “앞으로도 건강하고 행복한 지역 사회를 구성하고 동반성장을 위한 다양한 활동을 지속 펼쳐 나갈 예정이다”고 말했다.
한편, 한국타이어는 2012년 대전시로부터 ‘자원봉사 우수기업’ 선정됐으며, 2012년 보건복지부에서 선정하는 ‘2012 제3회 행복나눔인’ 수상, 제 20회 전국자원봉사자대회 ‘전국자원봉사축제’에서 우수상 선정, 2018년 전국사회복지나눔대회에서 보건복지부장관표창을 수상 받는 등 사회적 책임 실천을 위한 다양한 나눔 활동이 공로를 인정받아 오고 있다.
