[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 12일 경남도립 김해공공의료원을 설립하기 위한 타당성 조사 용역 최종보고회를 개최했다.

이번 보고회에는 홍태용 시장을 비롯해 경남도 보건의료국장, 최동원, 이시영 경남도의회 의원과 김해시의회 송유인, 이혜영 의원, 김해시의사회 양승홍 회장등 민간 전문가들이 참석해 자리를 함께 했다.

경남도립으로 건립하는 김해공공의료원은 민선8기 경남도지사와 김해시장의 공약으로 김해 등 경남 동부권역 공공의료 취약지를 강화하기 위해 경남도와 공동으로 2023년부터 연구용역을 진행했다.

용역수행기관인 한국보건산업진흥원은 김해를 포함한 경남 동부광역권 의료환경 및 김해시의 의료취약 특성을 포함해 분석 한 결과 300병상의 15개 진료과목 및 2개 정부지정 전문센터와 10개 전문클리닉이 필요할 것으로 제시했고 김해시에서 제공하는 부지에 국비와 지방비로 건축할 계획이다.

김해시와 경남도는 이달 용역을 마무리하고 내년부터 기획재정부에 예비타당성조사를 신청해 2032년에 준공할 계획이다.

홍태용 시장은 “김해공공의료원이 설립되면 김해시의 특수한 환경과 의료수요에 대해 다른 지자체와 차별화된 전략으로 필수의료를 책임지는 지역책임의료기관의 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다.
