지난 2월 5일 오후 일본 도쿄의 세타가야구에 소재한 키타자와 타운홀에서는 일본 대중가수 우타고코로 리에(歌心りえ. 51)의 영혼을 노래하다’(心りえ ‘魂を歌う’) 공연이 열렸다. 가수는 한국의 종편 채널 MBN이 시행한 사상 최초의 한국과 일본의 트롯 국가 대항 프로그램 한일가왕전에서 30년 무명의 침묵을 깨고 새롭게 태어난 가수다.
공연장 인근 시모키타자와에서 가수의 남편이 운영하는 라이브 하우스 ‘하늘을 나는 아기 돼지(空飛ぶこぶたや)’ 개점 10주년을 기념하는 공연이었다. 긴 터널과 같은 오랜 무명의 세월 동안 늘 편안하게 노래할 수 있는 공간을 지켜주며 응원한 고마움에 대한 감사의 뜻을 품고 있었다.
