[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해향교는 오는 3월 9일 문묘춘계석전 초헌관으로 홍태용 김해시장을 추대했다.

박기태 김해향교 전교 등 10여명의 유림은 12일 김해시장실을 방문해 홍 시장에게 초헌관으로 추대하는 천권을 전달했다.

문묘석전은 공자를 비롯한 5성, 송조 2현, 아국 18현의 신위를 모시는 제례 행사로 매년 음력 2월과 8월 초정일에 봉행한다.

홍태용 시장은 “문묘석전은 조선시대 국가제사로 전국의 향교에서 오늘날까지 이어져 내려온 만큼 역사와 전통이 매우 깊다”며 “우리 조상들의 큰 명절인 정월대보름날 천권을 전달받아 전통문화의 가치와 의미를 한 번 더 되새기게 되어 뜻깊다”고 밝혔다.

김해향교는 유아, 초등학생 등을 대상으로 하는 충효교실, 여름방학 체험교실, 일반 성인을 위한 유교 교육 등 다양한 전통문화 활성화 사업을 진행하고 있다.
