충남 서산시가 석유화학 산업의 위축과 세계적인 경기침체 속에서 지역경제의 지속적인 성장을 위해 기업 유치에 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
시는 기업 투자를 유치하기 위해 ▲지역특화 산업단지 조성 ▲기업 정착 지원 ▲근로자 문화생활 등 정주 여건 개선을 추진한다고 밝혔다.
올해 서산시는 대산그린컴플렉스, 대산충의, 대산3(확장) 일반산업단지 조성을 위한 보상에 착수하며, 지역특화 산업단지를 차질 없이 조성할 계획이다.
특히 지난해 기회발전특구로 지정된 대산그린컴플렉스 일반산업단지를 중심으로, 2027년까지 3개 산업단지의 모든 착공을 목표로 속도감 있게 추진할 예정이다.
이 외에도 현대대죽2 일반산업단지는 올해 공사에 착공할 예정이며, 성연 일반산업단지 조성도 올해 개발 및 실시계획 승인을 목표로 하고 있다.
기업의 정착 지원을 위해 서산시는 지난해 큰 호응을 얻었던 기업 애로사항 해결을 위한 킅린추진단을 운영하고, 지방투자촉진보조금을 지원하여 기업의 이전과 신증설 투자를 촉진할 계획이다.

청년문화센터는 수석농공단지 관리사무소 여유 부지에 지하 1층, 지상 4층 규모로 문화·체육시설과 기숙사를 갖출 계획이다.
근로자문화센터는 인더스밸리 내에 지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모로 2028년까지 교육장과 회의실, 기숙사를 갖출 예정이다.
또한, 서산시는 대죽 공공폐수처리시설을 개량하고 대산 그린컴플렉스 일반산업단지 일원에 공공폐수처리시설을 신설하여 시민에게 안전하고 쾌적한 기업 유치 환경을 조성할 방침이다.
