당진시(시장 오성환)는 지난 24일 당진2동을 끝으로 오성환 시장이 주재한 민선8기 4년차 14개 읍면동 순방을 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
이번 순방에서는 올해 시정 운영 방향과 2025년 지역별 투입될 예산을 소개하고, 주요 현안 사업에 대한 해결을 위해 시민들의 목소리를 경청하는 대화의 시간이 마련되었다.
오 시장은 후반부 일정에서 농촌 경제 활성화와 정주 여건 개선의 필요성을 강조하며, 다양한 사업 계획을 설명했다. 주요 내용으로는 △소득이 되는 특화작물 지원 및 청년농 양성 △교통 편의를 위한 신호체계 활성화 △정미면의 자연휴양림 조성 △대호지면의 골프장 조성 △면천의 문화관광 활성화 △호수공원 조성 및 도시개발 등이 포함되었다.
또한, 읍면동 주민들의 현안 건의도 활발히 접수되었으며, △도로 확포장 △인도 확장 △행복버스 노선 증설 △농수로 배관 정비 △마을안길 정비 △집중호우에 따른 피해 복원 요청 △도시 재생 및 구도심 활성화 △경로당 증축 및 복지 사업 확대 △교육 및 복지 인프라 구축 등 약 300건의 건의가 접수되었다.
당진시는 이번 순방을 통해 접수된 건의에 대한 처리 계획을 건의자에게 통보하고, 가능한 사안에 대해서는 즉각적인 처리를 할 방침이다.
오성환 시장은 “당진시의 정주 여건 개선을 위한 다양한 사업들을 추진해 살기 좋은 도시 만들기에 앞장설 것”이라며 “순방 기간 중 춥고 궂은 날씨에도 불구하고 2000여 명이 넘는 시민분들께서 행사장까지 발걸음 해주셔 진심으로 감사드린다. 건의해주신 의견들은 행정에서 역량을 집중해 해결해 나갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
