당진시(시장 오성환)는 지난 10일 당진실내체육관에서 제45회 당진시 장애인의 날 행사를 성황리에 개최했다고 11일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 (사)충남지체장애인협회당진시지회(지회장 김윤각)가 주관했으며, 오전 11시부터 오후 4시까지 진행됐다.
행사에는 오성환 당진시장을 비롯한 행사 관계자 및 당진시 거주 장애인과 그 가족 등 1500여 명이 참석해 성황을 이뤘다. 1부에서는 축사와 함께 모범장애인 및 장애인복지 유공자 표창이 진행되어 참석자들에게 큰 감동을 주었다. 2부에서는 다채로운 축하공연과 노래자랑이 펼쳐져 관객들에게 즐거움을 선사했다.
행사에 참석한 경로장애인 관계자는 “'행복을 바라봄, 일상을 담아봄, 희망을 이어봄'이라는 올해 장애인의 날 슬로건처럼, 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어울리며 서로를 이해하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 장애인의 권익 향상과 복지 증진을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 매년 4월 20일은 장애인의 날로, 장애인에 대한 국민의 이해를 높이고 장애인의 재활 의욕을 증진하기 위한 기념행사가 전국적으로 진행되고 있다. 이번 행사는 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 소통하고 화합하는 뜻깊은 자리로 기억될 것이다.
