[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 제42회 부산국제단편영화제가 오는 24일~ 29일 영화의전당과 BNK부산은행 아트시네마 모퉁이극장에서 열린다.
이번 영화제는 121개국에서 5,530편의 출품작 중 국제 경쟁 40편, 한국경쟁 20편을 포함해 총 41개국 157편의 영화가 상영된다.
국제단편영화제로 1980년부터 시작해 올해 42회를 맞았다. 올해는 시네마 & 사운드(Cinema & Sound)를 주제로 영화를 구성하는 중요한 부분 중 하나인 사운드의 예술을 깊게 조망할 예정이다.
영화에 재현되는 인물들의 ▲대사 ▲효과음 ▲영화음악 등 영화예술에서 '사운드의 미학'을 단편영화와 함께 자세히 들여다볼 수 있다.

개막 공연으로는 ▲콜롬비아 명예훈장을 수여한 조나탄 히메네스(Jhonatan Jimenez)와 공연단이 전통과 현대가 어우러진 열정적인 댄스 퍼포먼스 ▲음악감독 겸 싱어송라이터 김사월의 뮤직비디오 상영 ▲실시간 공연(라이브 공연) 등 다채로운 행사가 펼쳐질 예정이다.
또한, 영화제 시작을 알리는 개막전야 공연이 23일 오후 7시 비엔케이(BNK) 부산은행 본점 2층 오션홀에서 펼쳐질 예정이다.
이번 시네마콘서트에서는 제42회 부산국제단편영화제 국제경쟁부문 선정작인 ▲‘소리 없는 풍경’ ▲‘양’ ▲‘조그만 타인’을 상영한다. 또 ▲전자악기 테레민 공연 ▲콜롬비아 전통 댄스 ▲부산 동구 구립소년소녀합창단 공연 등도 선보일 예정이다.
특히, 올해는 영화제 최초로 남미국가 콜롬비아를 주빈국으로 선정해, 콜롬비아의 현실을 담아내는 작품들로 구성된 콜롬비아 프로그램을 비롯해 다양한 특별상영 프로그램도 선보일 예정이다.
특별상영으로는 ▲부산시립미술관:무빙온아시아(루프 랩 부산) ▲야외극장 ‘그린피스 씨그널’ 등이 준비되어있고, ▲부산국제단편영화제(BISFF) 원탁회의(라운드테이블), 부산국제단편영화제(BISFF) 토크 등 관객과의 소통을 위한 부대행사도 다채롭게 마련되어 있다.
폐막식은 4월 29일 오후 7시에 열리며, 부문별 최우수 작품상을 비롯한 4개 부문 12편의 수상작을 발표한다.
영화제는 국내 최초 아카데미 공식 인증을 받은 영화제로 국제·한국 경쟁부문에서 최우수 작품을 수상한 작품은 미국 아카데미(오스카) 시상식에서 단편 라이브 액션 부문, 단편 애니메이션 부문 후보로 자동으로 추천된다.
