태안군이 가정의 달 5월을 맞아 지역 초등학생들을 대상으로 진행한 ‘찾아가는 드론 교육’을 성공적으로 마무리 했으며. 미래 세대인 학생들이 4차 산업혁명 시대를 이끌어갈 역량을 키우는 데 도움을 주고자 마련된 이번 교육은 학생들과 학부모님들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.
군은 지난 5월 20일부터 23일까지 4일간 태안읍 태안초등학교와 소원면 소원초등학교에서 관내 초등학교 4~6학년 학생 총 260명을 대상으로 드론 체험 교육을 실시했다.
전문 교육기관인 ㈜플라이존 드론교육원 소속 교관 5명이 강사로 참여하여 학생들에게 드론에 대한 깊이 있는 이해와 흥미를 심어주었다.
이번 교육은 드론 체험 안전교육을 시작으로 드론 모의비행 시뮬레이션 체험, 드론 조종 기본(이·착륙 및 호버링), 팝(pop) 드론 체험 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 구성되었다. 특히, 학생들의 적극적인 참여와 관심을 유도하기 위해 ‘드론 장애물 피하기’와 ‘드론 축구’ 등의 경기도 함께 진행되어 큰 인기를 끌었다.
참여 학생들은 “드론 조종법을 배워 태안의 아름다운 바다를 드론 카메라로 담고 싶다”, “내가 조작하는 대로 드론이 움직여주니 신기하고 재미있다” 등의 소감을 밝히며 드론 교육에 대한 만족감을 나타냈다.
군은 이번 교육이 좋은 반응을 얻음에 따라 앞으로도 학생들의 드론 및 4차 산업혁명에 대한 관심도를 높일 수 있도록 더욱 다양하고 체계적인 드론 체험 기회를 제공할 방침이다.
군 관계자는 “태안군은 태안군UV랜드 등 우수한 지역 인프라를 바탕으로 전국 최고의 드론 메카로 자리매김하기 위한 노력을 기울이고 있다”며, “지역의 미래를 이끌 어린 학생들에게 특별한 경험을 선사할 수 있도록 앞으로도 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
