[브레이크뉴스 배종태 기자] 부산국제어린이청소년영화제(이하 BIKY)는 지난 28일, 재단법인 스마일게이트 퓨처랩(이하 퓨처랩)과 미래 세대를 위한 문화예술 발전 및 창의교육 융합 모델 확산을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
경기도 판교에 위치한 스마일게이트 본사 퓨처랩에서 진행된 이번 협약식에는 BIKY 이현정 집행위원장과 이상용 수석 프로그래머, 그리고 퓨처랩 백민정 센터장과 오숙현 실장 등 주요 관계자들이 참석하여 양 기관의 긴밀한 협력을 다짐했다.
스마일게이트의 사회공헌 활동 일환으로 설립된 퓨처랩은 미래 세대를 위한 창의적 환경 조성과 창작 생태계 활성화를 목표로 다양한 프로젝트를 추진해 왔다. 이번 협약을 통해 퓨처랩은 제20회 BIKY 기간 동안 'BIKY 놀이터' 및 '특별전 프로그램'에 참여하게 된다.
퓨처랩은 판교를 넘어 부산 영화의전당으로 활동 무대를 넓혀, 영화제를 방문하는 어린이 및 청소년들과 함께하는 다채로운 체험 프로그램과 영화 포럼을 선보일 예정이다.
BIKY 이현정 집행위원장은 "최첨단 기술의 발전과 동시에 인문학적 근간을 강조하는 '파운데이션' 교육을 실천해 온 퓨처랩의 철학이 BIKY가 지향하는 미래 비전과 맞닿아 있다"며, "20주년을 맞이하여 그 어느 때보다 새로운 협업에 대한 기대가 크다"고 밝혔다.

한편, 제20회 부산국제어린이청소년영화제는 오는 7월 8일부터 14일까지 영화의전당과 부산시 일대에서 개최되며, 7월 15일부터 19일까지는 부산 서부 지역인 사하구와 강서구 일대에서 진행되어 부산 전역의 다양한 관객들과 만날 예정이다.
