충남 서천군보건소가 지역 내 재가 암환자와 그 가족들의 건강 회복을 돕기 위해 지난 9일부터 '2025년 재가 암환자 자조모임 '건강나눔'을 운영하고 있다고 11일 밝혔다.
이번 프로그램은 오는 하반기까지 총 7회에 걸쳐 진행되며, 암환자의 신체적 회복은 물론 정서적 안정까지 폭넓게 지원하는 것을 목표로 한다.
자조모임은 암을 진단받고도 병원 밖에서 투병 생활을 이어가는 주민들에게 실질적인 도움이 되도록 구성됐다. 주요 내용으로는 '건강교육', '우울감 완화를 위한 심리·정서 프로그램', '야외 나들이' 등이 포함되어 있다.
특히 이번 프로그램은 단국대학교병원 충남지역암센터와 연계해 의료 전문성을 강화했다. 암 예방·관리 관련 건강정보, 영양섭취 방법, 운동 습관 형성 등 일상에서 실천 가능한 실질적 내용을 중심으로 전문 교육이 제공되고 있다. 한 참여자는 “정보를 듣는 것만으로도 마음이 놓이고, 일상으로 돌아갈 용기를 얻는다”고 말했다.
이외에도 천연비누 및 아로마 버물리 만들기를 통한 공예 활동도 함께 마련돼 심리적 안정과 자기효능감 향상을 지원하고 있다.
나성구 서천군보건소장은 “앞으로도 재가 암환자와 가족들이 보다 건강하고 안정된 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 지속적인 건강관리 서비스를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.
