(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 지난 13일 경기도 김포시에 위치한 해병대 제2사단을 방문해 서해 접경해역의 안보와 해양사고 대응 강화를 위한 협력방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.
인천해경에 따르면, 이번 방문은 최근 서해 북방한계선(NLL) 인근 해역에서의 GPS 교란 등 어선의 안전조업 문제가 대두됨에 따라 해경과 군의 공조체계를 더욱 긴밀히 하고 실질적인 대응 역량을 높이기 위한 차원에서 이뤄졌다.
양 기관은 어민들이 안전하게 생업을 영위할 수 있도록 해경과 군의 접경해역 관리 강화, 해양사고 발생 시 경·군이 협력 대응해 최고의 골든타임 확보, 평소 상시 소통 통해 각종 상황협력 등을 강화하기로 했다.
해병2사단 관계자는 “해양경찰과의 공조는 단순한 협력을 넘어 국민의 생명과 영토를 지키는 중요한 작전”이라며 “앞으로도 공조체계를 견고하게 유지하겠다”고 밝혔다.
