대전시가 우주산업의 미래를 열어갈 첨단기술 기반 스타트업 육성에 속도를 내고 있다. 민관이 손잡고 창업 생태계 확장을 위한 실질적 협력 모델을 제시하며, 우주도시로의 도약을 본격화하고 있다.
3일, 대전 유성구에 위치한 대전스타트업파크 본부에서는 ‘2025 K-스페이스 스타트업 서밋’이 성황리에 열렸다. 이번 행사는 대전시와 중소벤처기업부가 공동 주최하고, 대전창조경제혁신센터가 주관했으며, 우주 관련 스타트업, 투자기관, 산학연 전문가, 정부 관계자 등 약 120여 명이 참석했다.
올해로 2회째를 맞은 K-스페이스 스타트업 서밋은 국내 우주산업 창업 생태계의 실질적 성장 기반을 다지기 위한 자리다. 대전창조경제혁신센터는 지난해에 이어 스타트업, 투자사, 연구기관 등 약 80여 개 기관이 참여하는 ‘스페이스 스타트업 얼라이언스’를 중심으로 민간 주도의 협업 기반을 강화해왔다. 이를 통해 자생력 있는 우주 창업 생태계 조성을 목표로 하고 있다.
이날 행사에서는 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 연사로 나서 정책과 산업, 기술과 투자를 아우르는 강연을 진행했다. 특히 우주항공청과 KAIST 우주연구원, 민간 우주 기업 대표들이 직접 나서 '우주산업의 정책 방향', '신기술 트렌드', '민간 기업의 우주 분야 진출 사례', '스타트업의 성장 전략' 등을 주제로 깊이 있는 인사이트를 공유했다.

유득원 대전시 행정부시장은 “우주산업은 국방·통신·에너지·기후 등 다양한 전략분야에 파급력을 가지는 미래 전략산업”이라며, “기술력과 창의력이 풍부한 우주 스타트업이 새로운 기술과 시장을 창출해 우주산업 전반에 활력이 되도록 창업생태계 활성화를 적극 지원하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 대전창조경제혁신센터는 오는 9월 예정된 ‘스페이스 오픈이노베이션 프로그램’을 통해 유망 우주 스타트업의 사업화 지원에 나설 계획이다. 이를 통해 정부와 민간의 다양한 창업 지원 사업을 유기적으로 연계, 보다 체계적인 스타트업 성장 시스템을 마련하겠다는 방침이다.
