논산시, ‘사랑의 집 고치기’ 제48호점 착공

충남 논산시가 지역 내 주거 취약계층을 위한 따뜻한 손길을 이어가고 있다. 백성현 논산시장은 지난 16일 채운면에서 열린 ‘사랑의 집 고치기’ 제48호점 착공식에 참석해, 생활환경 개선이 절실한 중증장애인 가구를 위한 주거지원 활동에 동참했다.

‘사랑의 집 고치기’는 2007년부터 대한전문건설협회 세종시·충남도회가 주관하고 있는 민간 중심의 사회공헌 사업이다. 건축 관련 재능기부를 통해 실질적인 주거환경 개선이 필요한 이웃에게 실효성 있는 도움을 제공하고 있으며, 현재까지 47가구에 희망의 공간을 되돌려줬다.

이번 제48호점은 채운면에 거주하는 중증장애인 가정으로 선정됐다. 해당 가구는 재래식 화장실과 노후화된 주택 구조로 인해 일상생활의 불편이 컸던 상황이다. 이에 따라 사업단은 화장실 현대화, 지붕 누수 방지, 내부 단열 개선 등 전면적인 개보수를 진행할 계획이다. 주거의 기본권을 회복하고 일상의 안정을 되찾도록 지원하는 것이 핵심이다.

착공식 현장에는 백성현 논산시장을 비롯해 김종언 대한전문건설협회 세종시·충청남도회 회장, 진종재 대전MBC 사장, 김진원 논산시 운영위원회 위원장과 협회 임원진 등이 참석해 수혜 가정을 격려하고 사업의 의미를 되새겼다.

백 시장은 “이웃의 어려움을 함께 해결하는 것이 바로 논산시가 지향하는 사람 중심 공동체 복지”라며, “앞으로도 다양한 민간 자원과 연계하여 촘촘한 지역 안전망을 구축해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.
