(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 17일, 집중호우에 대비해 산사태 취약지역의 재해예방에 집중하고 있다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면, 구는 지난 3월 착공한 만수동 산1-2번지 일원 산사태 취약지역의 사방사업을 지난달 완료했다.
사방사업은 집중호우 시 토사, 나무, 암석 등이 쓸려 내려가는 것을 차단하기 위한 것으로, 관련 시설물을 설치해 자연재해를 예방한다.
남동구는 이번 사업 대상지인 만수동 산1-2번지 일원 위험지역에 산사태 예방시설인 깬돌골막이 1개소, 돌망태누구막이 5개소, 돌망태흙막이, 깬돌기슭막이 등을 설치해 산림 내 토사 유출을 막고 계류가 안정적으로 보전되도록 했다.
남동구는 최근 이상기후로 인해 태풍 및 국지성 집중호우가 빈번해지면서 산사태 피해 우려가 커지고 있는 만큼 사방사업 등 산사태 예방을 위한 사업을 지속해서 실시할 계획이다.
박종효 남동구청장은 “산림재해로부터 구민들의 생명과 재산을 보호하고 산림피해를 예방하기 위한 사방사업의 중요성이 높아지고 있다”며 “구민들이 안전한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 산사태 취약지역에 대한 점검을 실시하고, 사방시설의 확충과 기존 시설의 유지관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
