【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 동구의회가 혁신도시 내 교육 불균형 해소를 위한 정책 연구를 마무리하고, 정주 여건 개선과 지역 활성화를 위한 후속 논의에 들어간다.
동구의회(의장 정인숙)는 22일 의회 의정연구실에서 ‘대구 동구 혁신도시 교육불평등 해소 및 지역발전 방안 연구용역’ 최종보고회를 열었다. 이번 연구는 의원연구단체 ‘동심’의 주도로 추진됐으며, 안평훈 의원을 비롯해 정인숙, 김은옥 의원이 참여했다.
혁신도시로 지정된 동구에는 공공기관 이전 등으로 인구 유입이 빠르게 이뤄졌지만, 교육 인프라 부족과 통학 불편 문제가 꾸준히 제기돼왔다. 연구는 이 같은 문제에 대응하기 위해 교육시설 확충, 통학환경 개선, 교육특구 연계 방안, 교육 혁신 프로그램 운영 등 정책 대안을 제시했다.
이날 보고회에는 동구의회 의원들과 대구시 및 동구청 관계부서 담당자들이 참석해, 정책 제안의 실행 가능성과 향후 방향에 대해 의견을 나눴다.
안평훈 의원은 “이번 연구는 교육 격차 해소와 함께, 동구가 정주 매력을 갖춘 교육친화도시로 나아가기 위한 중요한 출발점”이라며 “교육청 등 관계 기관과 협력해 실현 가능한 정책으로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
정인숙 의장은 “연구에서 제시된 교육인프라 확충과 지방행정 현대화 방안이 실질적인 주민 삶의 질 향상으로 이어질 수 있도록 의회도 역할을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
김은옥 의원 역시 “통학환경 개선과 교육 접근성 제고는 결국 지역 활성화로 연결된다”며 “정책 실현을 위한 지속적인 노력을 이어가겠다”고 강조했다.
동구의회는 연구용역 결과를 바탕으로 관련 부서와의 협의를 거쳐 구체적인 실행 계획 수립에 나설 방침이다.

At the report meeting that day, Dong-gu Council members and officials from Daegu City and Dong-gu Office related departments attended and exchanged opinions on the feasibility and future direction of policy proposals.
Assemblyman Ahn Pyeong-hoon said, “This study is an important starting point for resolving the education gap and for Dong-gu to become an education-friendly city with residential appeal,” and added, “We will cooperate with the Office of Education and other related organizations to develop it into a feasible policy.”
Chairwoman Jeong In-sook said, “The council will also do its part to ensure that the expansion of education infrastructure and modernization of local administration suggested in the study can lead to actual improvements in the quality of life for residents.”
Assemblyman Kim Eun-ok also emphasized, “Improving the school environment and increasing access to education ultimately leads to regional revitalization,” and “We will continue to make efforts to implement the policy.”
Based on the results of the research, the Dong-gu Council plans to establish a specific implementation plan through consultation with related departments.
