최근 방송과 언론을 통해 빅트리에 대한 문제가 부각되면서 창원시 빅트리가 전국적인 관심을 받는 초유의 사태를 맞았다. 이에 창원특례시는 지난 23일 오는 8월 4일부터 빅트리에 대한 시민들의 의견을 수렴하고자 2주간 임시 개방한다고 밝혔다.
창원시는 임시개방의 이유를 설명했는데, ▲시민들이 빅트리를 직접 방문해 시설 및 운영 전반에 대한 의견을 제안할 수 있도록 마련됐다고 했다. 하지만 창원시가 어떤 이유로 임시개방을 하고 시민들의 의견을 수렴하는 지에 대한 근본적인 설명은 누락시켰다.
