창원시 자원순환 관계자와 청소대행업체 동성산업(주), ㈜신일환경산업개발, 창원시생활폐기물 수집·운반 협회 등 8명이 참여하였으며, 현장에는 집게차 75t 1대, 덤프트럭 5t 1대, 25t 2대가 투입돼 수해 폐기물을 임시 적환장까지 신속히 옮기며 피해지역 정리에 힘을 보탰다.
산청군은 지난 7월 집중호우로 큰 피해를 입어 전국 각지에서 자원봉사자들이 복구를 지원하고 있으나, 방대한 수해 폐기물 처리를 위한 장비가 부족한 상황에서 창원시는 신속한 지원을 결정했다.
이동율 창원시생활폐기물 협회장은 “앞으로도 인근 지자체에 도움이 필요하면 언제든 달려가 힘을 보태고, 자원봉사도 확대할 예정이다”고 밝혔다.
