[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 함안 군북일반산단에 공업 및 생활용수를 안정적으로 공급하기 위한 시설 확충을 지원한다고 27일 밝혔다.
용수공급시설 사업은 함안 군북일반산업단지 인근 남강에서 하천수를 취수(Q=16,300㎥/일)하여 도수관로(L=5.1km)를 통해 산업단지에 원수를 공급하고, 정수장에서 수질을 개선해 양질의 용수를 입주 기업 등에 제공하는 사업이다.
이를 위해 도는 지난 7월 24일 ‘함안 군북일반산업단지 외 용수공급시설’에 대한 산업단지계획 변경을 승인·고시했다.
현재 함안군은 공사 발주를 위해 경상남도 지방건설기술심의회 심의를 진행 중이며, 오는 11월 착공할 계획이다.
도는 용수공급시설 사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 총사업비 410억 원 중 보상비와 자재구입비 등 30억 원을 우선 지원했으며, 2026년 당초 예산에 도비 118억 원을 신청해 사업이 원활하게 추진될 수 있도록 뒷받침할 예정이다.

입주 기업의 안정적인 용수 확보와 산업단지 분양 활성화, 기업 유치·입주에 지장이 없도록 적기 준공을 목표로 행정적·재정적 지원을 아끼지 않을 방침이다.
신종우 도 도시주택국장은 “단순한 인프라 구축을 넘어, 산업단지 경쟁력 강화와 지역 일자리 창출, 나아가 경남 중․서부권 경제 중심지로서 함안군의 성장 기반을 마련하는 계기가 될 것”이라며, “지역경제 활성화에 실질적으로 기여하는 산업 인프라 확충을 위해 행정적․재정적 지원을 지속하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 총 82만 5,000㎡ 규모의 함안 군북일반산업단지는 경남개발공사에서 공영개발 방식으로 조성 중이며 한국중부발전(주)이 입주할 예정이다.
자동차·기계 등 첨단 제조업 중심의 기업 유치를 목표로 하며, 남해고속도로 장지TG에서 1.8km 거리의 지리적 이점을 이용해 함안군 발전의 중심축으로 삼을 계획이다.
