[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 창원국가산단의 생산액과 무역 수출액이 매년 최고치를 경신하며 지역 경제가 안정적인 성장세를 이어가고 있다고 1일 밝혔다.
지난해 창원국가산단은 사상 처음으로 생산액 62조 원을 돌파했으며, 올해 상반기에도 생산액 30조 7천억 원을 달성하며 순조롭게 나아가고 있다. 같은 기간 창원 지역 수출액도 117억 달러를 기록해 5년 연속 무역수지 흑자를 달성하며, 대한민국 산업 경제의 핵심 거점으로서 창원의 위상을 더욱 공고히 하고 있다.
시는 이러한 성장 추세를 더욱 가속화하기 위해 디지털·인공지능 혁신, 문화·산업 융합, 안정적인 무역기반 구축, K-방산 수출 확대 지원 등을 중심으로 산업 생태계 전반의 지속가능한 경쟁력 강화를 추진하고 있다.

창원국가산단을 문화와 산업이 공존하는 ‘문화선도산단’으로 탈바꿈시키고 있다. 지난 3월 산업통상자원부, 문화체육관광부, 국토교통부에서 공동 주관한 ‘2025년 문화선도산단’ 공모에 최종 선정된 이후, 협력 체계 구축과 전문가 컨설팅, 브랜드 산단 협약 등을 진행하며 사업을 본격 추진하고 있다. 해당 사업은 2025년부터 2028년까지 총 750억 원 규모로 추진되며, 산단 재생과 지역 문화 확산을 동시에 목표로 한다.
