브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 말레이시아 관광청 서울사무소가 한국국제교류재단(KF)이 주최하는 제7회 공공외교주간에 참가해 오는 13일 서울 KF글로벌센터 세미나실에서 어린이 대상 프로그램 '동화로 만나는 말레이시아'를 선보인다.
공공외교주간은 전 세계 문화와 공공외교 활동을 시민들에게 소개하는 행사로, 올해는 '세계와의 만남, 이어지는 우리'라는 주제로 9월 8일부터 27일까지 열린다.
이번 행사에는 33개국 주한 외국공관과 문화원, 12개 국제기구 및 기관이 참여해 공연, 전시, 강연, 동화 낭독 등 60여 개 프로그램을 마련했다.
말레이시아 관광청은 환경·생태를 주제로 한 동화책 '나는 바다거북을 사랑해(Saya Sayang Penyu)' 낭독을 통해 바다와 야생동물 보호의 중요성을 어린이 눈높이에 맞춰 전할 예정이다.
이 책은 말레이시아 작가 림이쉬안(Lim Yi Xuan)의 작품으로, 바다거북 생태계와 위협 요인을 알기 쉽게 풀어냈다. 낭독에는 토’푸안 아르파 나디아 아흐마드(To’ Puan Arfah Nadiah Ahmad) 주한 말레이시아 대사 부인이 직접 참여해 특별한 의미를 더한다.
또한 동화 낭독 후에는 어린이들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 전통 문화 체험 프로그램도 진행된다. 바틱(Batik) 페인팅, 전통 구슬놀이 총칵(Congkak), 공기놀이와 비슷한 바투 세렘반(Batu Seremban) 등이 마련되며, 모든 참가자에게는 특별 기념품이 제공된다.
프로그램은 사전 신청자에 한해 참여 가능하며, 세부 내용은 공공외교주간 공식 블로그와 행사 플랫폼을 통해 확인할 수 있다.

Promoting Malaysia through Fairy Tales and Experiencing Traditional Culture
The Malaysia Tourism Board Seoul Office will participate in the 7th Public Diplomacy Week, hosted by the Korea Foundation (KF), and present a children's program, "Encountering Malaysia through Fairy Tales," at the KF Global Center Seminar Room in Seoul on September 13th.
Public Diplomacy Week introduces global cultures and public diplomacy activities to the public. This year, the event will run from September 8th to 27th under the theme, "Encountering the World, Connecting Us."
