남동구에 따르면, 이번 축제는 소래포구의 역사와 전통에 현대적 감각을 더해 대한민국 대표 해양생태축제로 도약하는 것을 목표로 한다.
축제 기간 메인무대에서는 다양한 세대가 즐길 수 있는 공연이 연이어 펼쳐진다.
첫날은 ‘소래포구 수산물 음식 경연대회’를 시작으로 ‘남동구립 풍물단·여성합창단 공연’이 이어지며, 개막식에는 만능 트롯돌 박서진과 국악인 전영랑 등의 축하공연과 환상적인 ‘소래바다 오프닝 드론쇼’가 이어진다.
