【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 장애학생들이 14년 연속 종합우승이라는 전례 없는 기록에 도전장을 내밀었다.
대구시교육청은 9일부터 10일까지 강원 홍천 소노캄 비발디파크에서 열리는 '2025년 전국 장애학생 e페스티벌'에 68명의 선수단을 파견한다고 밝혔다.
지난해까지 13년 연속 종합우승의 금자탑을 쌓은 대구선수단은 정보경진대회 10개 종목에 16명, e스포츠대회 10개 종목에 17명 등 총 33명의 대표선수가 출전한다.
전국 장애학생 e페스티벌은 국립특수교육원, 한국콘텐츠진흥원, 넷마블문화재단이 공동 주최하는 대회다. 교육부와 문화체육관광부가 후원하며, 특수교육 대상 학생들의 정보화능력 향상과 건전한 여가생활 지원을 위해 2003년부터 이어져왔다.
선수들은 상호 소통과 협력을 바탕으로 교내 방과후 활동을 적극 활용해 훈련에 매진했다. 대구시교육청과 특수교육정보화연구회도 실전훈련과 집중 순회지도 프로그램을 통해 든든한 지원군 역할을 했다.
이번 대회에는 본 경기와 함께 풍성한 체험 프로그램이 마련된다. 로봇 AR 배틀 체험, AI 캐릭터 제작 체험, 드론 레이싱 체험, 언플러그드코딩 체험, 웨어러블 보행로봇, 에코스테이지버스킹, 닌텐도와 오큘러스 퀘스트 게임 등이 참가자들에게 다채로운 경험을 선사할 예정이다.
강은희 교육감은 "대회 준비를 위해 노력한 우리 학생선수들과 지도교사 모두에게 응원과 박수를 보낸다"며 "그동안 갈고 닦은 기량을 마음껏 펼치는 축제가 되기를 바란다"고 격려했다.

Students with disabilities in Daegu are challenging the unprecedented record of winning the overall championship for 14 consecutive years.

This competition will feature a variety of experiential programs alongside the main competition. Participants will enjoy a variety of experiences, including robot AR battles, AI character creation, drone racing, unplugged coding, wearable walking robots, eco-stage busking, and Nintendo and Oculus Quest games.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee expressed her encouragement, saying, "I applaud and support all of our student athletes and their instructors for their hard work in preparing for the competition. I hope this will be a festival where they can fully demonstrate the skills they have honed."
