[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남 농업의 경쟁력을 높이고 농업인들의 삶의 질을 개선하기 위한 중요한 조치로 경남 농업인 수당이 내년부터 인상될 것으로 보인다.
경남도는 10일 함안 함주공원 다목적잔디구장에서 열린 제18회 경상남도 후계농업경영인대회 개회식에서 농업인 수당 인상 계획을 재차 밝혔다.
농업인 수당 인상 조치는 앞서 열린 제426회 도의회 임시회에서 박완수 도지사가 도의원 질문에 답하며 먼저 밝힌 바 있다.
경남도는 예산이 확정되는 대로 내년부터 인상된 수당을 지급할 계획이다.
박 지사는 이날 개회식 축사를 통해 “경남은 농업 분야에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있는 지역”이라며, “농업인들의 노고에 보답하기 위해, 내년부터 농업인 수당을 인상하기로 결정했다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “한농연 가족 여러분과 협력하고 함께 의견을 나누어 농업인들의 헌신에 보답할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
또한 “경남 농업의 중심에는 여러분이 계시고, 여러분 덕분에 경남 농촌에는 희망이 있다”며, 후계농업경영인들의 지속적인 노력에 대한 감사의 마음을 전했다.
이번 후계농업경영인대회는 ‘새로운 미래농업 100년! 경상남도 후계농업경영인과 함께’를 주제로, 도내 후계농업경영인들이 한자리에 모여 교류하고, 경남 농업의 미래 비전을 공유하는 자리로 마련됐다.
이날 행사에는 박완수 지사를 비롯해 최학범 도의회 의장, 이만호 함안군의회 의장, 조근제 함안군수, 최흥식 한농연 중앙회장 등 주요 인사와 농업인 가족 등 약 3,000여 명이 참석했다.
개회식에서는 우수 후계농업경영인 43명에게 농림축산식품부 장관상, 농촌진흥청장상, 경상남도지사상, 한농연중앙회장상 등 표창이 수여됐다.
특히 이날 행사에서는 후계농업경영인들이 특별결의문을 낭독하며 ‘위기를 기회로 삼아 누구나 하고 싶은 농업, 누구나 살고 싶은 농촌’을 만들기 위한 관심과 지원을 촉구하는 10대 핵심 농정 요구사항을 발표했다.
이번 대회는 10일부터 12일까지 3일간 열리며, 말이산고분 등 함안 문화관광 투어, 한농연 가족 명랑운동회, 퓨전음악 공연, 한농연 가족의 밤 행사 등 다채로운 프로그램이 진행된다.
이와 함께 18개 시군의 우수 농특산물 홍보판매장, 농기자재 전시회, 치유농업 체험존 등도 운영돼 지역 농업의 가치와 가능성을 함께 나누는 장이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Governor Park Wan-soo had previously announced the increase in farmer allowances during a question-and-answer session of the 426th Provincial Council.
