영주 영일초 공간재구조화, 지역과 함께하는 열린 학교로

경북교육청은 영주시 영일초등학교 공간재구조화사업 설계 공모 심사위원회를 열고 '건축사사무소 진승건축' 박종한 대표의 작품을 최종 당선작으로 뽑았다고 30일 밝혔다.

심사위원회는 당선작에 대해 "지역 주민과 공유할 수 있는 개방형 시설과 야외 휴게 공간을 연계해, 학교를 교육의 장을 넘어 지역 사회와 함께하는 열린 공간으로 발전시킬 수 있는 가능성이 돋보인다"며 작품의 완성도를 높이 평가했다.

영일초등학교 공간재구조화사업은 기존 본관과 후관을 철거하고 총사업비 171억 원을 들여 지상 3층, 총면적 4800㎡ 규모로 세워진다. 2028년 준공을 목표로 추진된다.

이번 심사에는 부산광역시교육청 관계자가 참관했다. 지난 7월 울산광역시교육청과 9월 강원특별자치도교육청에 이어 다른 시도에서 경북교육청의 설계 공모 운영 시스템을 적극 벤치마킹하고 있음을 보여준다.
