전북 전주대학교 신임 총장에 류두현(사진) 국제 영재아카데미 교장이 선임됐다.
학교법인 신동아학원(이사장 차종순)은 24일 이사회를 개최하고 전주대 17대 총장에 류두현 前 전주대학교 대외부총장을 내정했다고 밝혔다.
이사회는 교육ㆍ연구ㆍ산업 현장을 두루 경험한 실용적 리더로 대학의 정체성을 강화하고 미래 혁신을 이끌 적임자로 판단했다.
신임 총장 임기는 오는 11월 1일부터 4년간이다.
류두현 신임 총장은 "전주대학교는 기독교적 건학이념 위에 세워진 대학으로 신앙과 학문이 조화를 이루는 교육을 통해 진리와 사랑을 실천해야 한다"며 "지역과 세계를 연결하는 혁신 허브로 만들고 학생 중심의 교육ㆍ글로벌 연계 연구ㆍ디지털 기반 행정 혁신을 핵심적인 목표로 추진하겠다"는 소감을 밝혔다.
