대구농업마이스터고, ‘2025 대구정원박람회’ 학생 정원 부문 동상

【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구농업마이스터고등학교(교장 서영석, 이하 대구농마고)는 지난 28일, 하중도에서 열린 ‘2025 대구정원박람회’ 학생정원 경연대회에서 동상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회에서 대구농마고 ‘SSS급조경’팀(김태연·전혜련·정재현·홍민기, 2학년)은 본선에 진출한 20개 팀 중 유일한 고등학생 팀으로, 조경학 전공 대학생들과 경쟁해 우수한 성적을 거뒀다.

학생정원 경연의 주제는 ‘하중도 가을 화원을 조망할 수 있는 뷰포인트 정원’이었다. 대구농마고 팀은 ‘가을의 시작’이라는 작품명으로 40㎡ 규모의 정원을 조성해 심사위원들의 주목을 받았다.

작품은 가을 들녘을 지나가는 기차길을 형상화한 탐방 동선과 중앙의 작은 연못, 주변의 완만한 동산으로 구성됐다. 갈대와 남천, 국화 등을 활용해 가을의 정취를 담았으며, 약 50여 종의 야생식물과 10여 종의 수생식물을 식재해 자연스러운 경관미를 표현했다.

팀장 전혜련(도시공간조경과 2학년) 학생은 “학교에서 배운 조경 설계와 시공 능력을 실제 현장에서 적용할 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며 “앞으로도 자신감을 가지고 다양한 조경 프로젝트에 도전하고 싶다”고 소감을 전했다.

서영석 교장은 “학생들이 대학생들과 당당히 경쟁해 성과를 거둔 것은 본교의 교육과정과 열정적인 학습의 결실”이라며 “앞으로도 실무 중심 교육을 강화해 전문 기술을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

The work featured a path depicting a train passing through an autumn field, a small pond in the center, and gentle hills surrounding it. Reeds, tangle, and chrysanthemums were used to capture the autumnal atmosphere, while approximately 50 species of wild plants and 10 species of aquatic plants were planted to create a natural landscape.

Team leader Jeon Hye-ryeon (sophomore, Department of Urban Landscape Architecture) said, "It was meaningful to be able to apply the landscape design and construction skills I learned at school to real-world situations. I hope to continue to confidently tackle various landscape projects."

Principal Seo Young-seok stated, "The students' successful performance in competing with university students is a testament to our school's curriculum and passionate learning. We will continue to strengthen our practical education to actively support them in developing into professionals with specialized skills."
