【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 지난달 26일 대소면 공장 화학물질 유출 사고로 인해 농작물 피해를 입은 농가를 대상으로 지원금을 지급했다고 11일 밝혔다.
이번 지원은 화학사고조사단(단장 원주지방환경청장)의 최종 피해 조사가 완료되기 전, 긴급 자금 지원을 통해 농가의 당면한 어려움을 조금이나마 해소하는 데 도움을 주기 위한 조치이다.
군은 재난 및 안전관리 기본법과 음성군 재난관리기금 운용 관리 조례에 따라 재난관리기금 재원을 활용해 지원금을 마련했다.
군에 따르면, 지원금은 화학물질 사고 발생 후 지난 6일까지 군에 피해 신고를 완료한 221가구를 대상으로 하며, 총 6710만원이 지급됐다.
지급 금액은 4인 이하 가구(총 213가구)에는 가구당 30만원, 5인 이상 가구(총 8가구)에는 가구당 40만원이다.
조병옥 음성군수는 “이번 화학물질 누출 사고로 불편을 겪은 군민 여러분께 깊은 위로의 말씀을 전한다”면서 “군민 생활 안정 도모를 위해 지원금을 신속히 지급했으며 앞으로도 피해를 입은 주민의 조속한 일상 회복을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 원주지방환경청은 피해 조사를 선행한 뒤 손해사정사를 통한 보상을 진행하게 할 방침이며, 군은 입원 및 통원 치료 환자의 건강 상태 모니터링을 지속하고, 화학사고 조사단의 조사가 신속하고 원활히 이뤄질 수 있도록 적극적인 지원을 이어 나갈 예정이다.
