최근 8년간 충북혁신도시 인구는 46% 증가(2018년 22,031명 → 2025년 8월말 32,260명)했으며, 평균 연령은 34.3세로 전국 혁신도시 중 가장 젊고 역동적인 도시로 성장했다.
이와 같은 꾸준한 인구 유입과 젊은 세대 증가에 발맞춰 진천군은 가족 친화적 생활 인프라 확충에 적극 나서며 정주형 혁신도시로 변화를 이끌고 있다.
교육과 돌봄 환경 개선은 지난 1년간 충북혁신도시의 가장 두드러진 성과로 꼽힌다.
총 299억원이 투입된 ‘복합혁신센터’는 공유평생학습관·다함께돌봄센터·공동육아나눔터·공연장·정보화 교육장 등 다양한 기능을 한 공간에 담았다.
주민 누구나 참여할 수 있는 평생학습 프로그램과 시민대학 강좌도 정기적으로 운영 중이다.
또한 지난 7월에는 어린이와 가족을 위한 특화공간으로 ‘꿈자람터’가 새롭게 문을 열었다.
99억원을 들여 조성한 이 시설은 어린이 실내놀이터, AR스포츠 체험관, 다목적 체육관, 가족 놀이공간 등을 두루 갖추고 있어 주민 만족도가 매우 높다.
