【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 13일 백곡면 양백리 일원에서 ‘양백1 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업 준공식’을 개최했다.
이날 준공식 행사에는 송기섭 진천군수, 이재명 진천군의회 의장, 이양섭 충북도의회 의장, 최현수 한국농어촌공사 충북본부장, 지역주민 등 100여명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
해당 사업은 해마다 가뭄으로 어려움을 겪는 백곡면 양백리 일대에 저수지를 신설해 농업용수 원활히 공급하고 산불 화재 용수로 활용하기 위해 추진됐다.
또한 극한 호우로부터 하천 범람 예방 등 자연재해 예방도 기대된다.
군은 총사업비 65억원을 투입해 지난 2020년부터 사업을 추진, 올해 공사를 마무리했다.
이번에 설치된 저수지 관개면적은 14.7ha로 총저수량 7만t 정도이며 군에서 관리하는 농업용 저수지 39개소 중 가장 큰 저수량을 자랑한다.
은민호 군 건설하천과장은 “이번 양백저수지 준공은 하나의 시설 완공을 넘어, 지역의 안전 인프라를 강화하고 지속 가능한 농촌 환경을 조성하는 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 가뭄·호우 등 자연재해 예방 사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
