【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=증평 출신 유도선수 서은지(21)가 일본 도쿄에서 열린 ‘2025년 도쿄 하계 데플림픽(청각장애올림픽)’에서 잇따라 메달을 획득하며 국제무대에서 다시 한번 자신의 기량을 입증했다.
이번 대회는 11월 15일부터 26일까지 80여 개국이 참가한 가운데 진행되고 있으며, 서 선수는 16일 여자 개인전 –57kg급, 18일 단체전에 출전해 두 종목 모두 동메달을 목에 걸었다.
연이은 메달 소식은 지역사회에 전해져 군민들에게 큰 기쁨을 안겼다.
선천적 청각장애를 지녔지만 이를 극복하고 꾸준히 성장해온 서 선수는 증평에서 나고 자랐으며, 한경국립대학교를 졸업한 뒤 현재 메디톡스 소속으로 활약 중이다.
지난해 카자흐스탄 투르키스탄에서 열린 2024 세계 농아인 유도선수권대회에서 은메달 두 개를 획득한 데 이어, 올해 열린 전국장애인체전에서도 은메달을 거머쥐며 안정적인 경기력을 이어왔다.

Jeungpyeong-born judo athlete Seo Eun-ji (21) once again proved her prowess on the international stage by winning consecutive medals at the 2025 Tokyo Summer Deaflympics (Deaflympics) held in Tokyo, Japan.
