파주시 조리읍은 지난 14일 조리읍 행정복지센터에서 관내 사회단체들이 모여 ‘사랑의 김장 나눔 행사’를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 조리읍 새마을부녀회(회장 백옥희)와 새마을지도자회(회장 심용보)가 주관하며, 쌀쌀한 날씨에도 많은 회원들이 이른 아침부터 모여 정성껏 김장 김치를 담갔으며 완성된 김장 김치는 조리읍 맞춤형 복지팀과 조리 행복 나눔 협의체를 통해 취약계층 150여 가구에 전달되었다.
백옥희 새마을부녀회장은 “매년 이웃들에게 따뜻한 마음을 전하고자 회원들과 함께 김장을 담근다”며 “작은 손길이지만 받는 분들께 힘이 되고, 마을에 따뜻함이 전해지길 바란다”고 말했다.
봉상균 조리읍장도 “추운 날씨에도 봉사해 주신 새마을 회원분들께 감사드리며, 이러한 활동이 취약 계층에게 큰 힘이 되고 조리읍 공동체의 품격과 온정을 보여주는 소중한 시간”이라고 밝혔으며 읍 차원에서도 복지 사각지대 해소와 주민 행복을 위해 적극 지원하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
